Words from the Safety and Environment Manager at Tournaire
Emilie DROHE, I joined TOURNAIRE SAS in 2019 and have held the position of Safety and Environment Manager for the past 2 years.
I have been working in the field of Safety and Environment since 2005, and I do this job out of conviction.
This choice comes not only from my professional background, but also from my personal life, shaped by experiences that have taught me the value of vigilance, protection and responsibility. These experiences have shaped who I am and give meaning to my commitment.
Today, I do not do this job by chance. I do it because I deeply believe in its value, as I know how much workplace safety and occupational health and safety (OHS) can change lives.

A strong safety culture at the heart of the company
I am deeply passionate about my work and its missions, especially at Tournaire, where the word Safety truly has meaning and is fully aligned with my convictions.
At Tournaire, Safety is not just written on an ISO 45001 certificate or in a charter for clients… it resonates and makes sense every day at all levels of the organization.
It is truly rewarding to practice this profession in a company that genuinely believes in “taking care” and that allocates human, organizational and financial resources to achieve it.
Risk prevention integrated into all projects
In a demanding industrial environment, Safety is considered in all major company projects. I do not need to “fight to be included” in these projects: the involvement of the Safety and Environment department is natural and systematic in the way everyone works.
Requests are numerous and varied (technical, machinery, infrastructure, training, etc.), and they all converge towards the same objective: Safety.
Each year, several thousand euros are allocated to the Safety and Environment and Technical departments to carry out projects aimed at reducing occupational risks and improving working conditions.
Our management trusts our assessments, decisions and directions. All departments are challenged every year on safety-related actions.
Concrete resources for occupational health and safety (OHS)
The strengthening of the Safety and Environment department is also a strong indicator of the importance of Safety within the company.
A few years ago, it was a QSE department with only two people… today, we are three full-time employees dedicated exclusively to Safety and Environment.
A field-based approach close to teams
One aspect of my job that I particularly enjoy, and which is even more developed at Tournaire, is “field safety.”
Being close to operational teams, discussing, understanding how machines work, listening to their challenges, observing and working together to find the most realistic and practical actions to improve Safety — it’s a fundamental approach, yet incredibly important.
Continuous improvement and daily commitment
In my daily work, I enjoy working both on large-scale projects worth several million euros and on smaller industrial projects costing just a few hundred euros.
I make no difference in my level of commitment: what matters is the result and the improvement of working conditions, regardless of the resources involved.
I often tell my team: in our profession, we must celebrate small achievements as much as big ones.
A profession driven by conviction
Today, I am proud to carry out a job that truly motivates me, and I am grateful to do so within a company like Tournaire.
