Born in Grasse in 1833, the company will celebrate it 200 years in 2033. This symbolic date carries its own vision, to prepare the company for its next 100 years! In order to succeed, sustainable initiatives are necessary: a healthy and robust company, creating value added, capable of adapting to a volatile and uncertain environement, thanks to agile and talented teams, strong partnerships with suppliers and customers, working all toegther for healthier eco-systems.
A HOLISTIC APPROACH
At Tournaire, we believe to be part of many eco-systems…
This might seem either naïve or arrogant!
But let’s take a look at the commonly accepted definition of an eco-system: an eco-system is a system form by an environment (biotope) and all living species (biocenosis) living, eating and reproducing in this environment.
Thinking this way, one may realize that our family, our favorite sport team, our company are eco-system by themselves! A customer-supplier is an eco-system as well, a whole supply-chain of a given product is also an eco-system… Remember Covid and its supply-chain disruption, when this reality stroked the world…
Recognizing that we are a part of many different eco-systems is just another way to realize that we are dependent on each others. This is the essence of the human being which can developed itself thru socialization and relationships. And this is also true to for all the species and the various environments, whatever the scale you are looking at.
That’s why we strongly advocate for a holistic approach, a systemic approach…

By sharing our beliefs with you, we hope to embark you on our journey, building together, in openness, transparency, tapping into the collective intelligence, new ways to nurture all the eco-systems we live in.
At Tournaire, this approach goes way beyond the shirts we are wearing! It is also the foundation of our management and organizational principles; the way we look at our communities and stakeholders, the way we work with our suppliers and customers, and the reason for all the efforts we do to improve our interdependence with our environment.
Our systemic vision is built around three pillars and the subtle pursuit of their perfect balance, set over the long term, with full responsibility, if possible!
An economic pillar, focused on value creation, the company's fundamental mission, while also broadly encompassing entrepreneurial themes, from exemplary business practices to new economic models.
A social pillar, which includes both internal initiatives within the company and external initiatives benefiting our stakeholders, primarily suppliers and customers, as well as our local engagement with a long-term perspective: preparing Tournaire to celebrate its 200th anniversary and confidently envision the century to come !Finally, an environmental pillar, grounded in this conviction of the necessity to preserve all ecosystems, and first and foremost the planet Earth and the living world.
In our vision, true responsibility is about combining these three pillars so that each one is sustainable, rooted in the reality of life and common sense.

OUR AMBITIONS
The One Health initiative, sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) summarizes in a way the holistic vision we have. At Tournaire, we believe to be part of many eco-systems, interdependent from each others.
Climate
Our planet is a fabulous eco-system by itself of an incredible precision, just reflect for a few on the probability for human life to rise from the big-bang! Closer to our time, the development of the human activities in the last 150 years are putting a significant pressure on the planet and pushing it beyond its own boundaries. 6 out of nine of those boundaries have been passed and we are getting closer than expected to pass another one soon… if not yet already.
It is therefore urgent and unequivocal to act quickly on the climate and especially on the carbon emissions reduction. But it can not be the just one boundary to be looked after. All boundaries represent the health of the planet.
Global Health and Biodiversity
In our holistic and systemic vision, we acknowledge the interdependency between many eco-systems. The One Health initiative, althought created on a different ground, highlights very well the interdependency of 3 main eco-systems, the planet, the human being and the animal being. If one of them is not healthy, it impacts the other two. Simple. Health is just becoming the new challenge, and especially the one related to the micro and nano plastic which endanger not only human health but the 3 eco-systems. This is becoming an increasingly urgent matter. As well.
Resources
Finite for most of them, it is critical to reduce our consumption, not only as a company but as the whole. Therefore, investing on the right choice of material from the beginning is crucial. At Tournaire, we believe aluminum and stainless steel are material of the future! But this is just the starting point. We also need to do our best to develop recycling efforts along the value chain and encourage the reuse as much as possible. Looking at developing circular economy and changing business models from usage to functionality are also a way to reduce the burden on resources.
RECOGNIZED AND CERTIFIED COMMITMENTS
Tournaire’s sustainable approach is part of a continuous improvement process, assessed against internationally recognized standards.
Tournaire has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, reflecting our ongoing commitment to responsible practices.
