Page title: How is extraction and distillation of raw materials performed with Tournaire equipment?
Founded in 1833, Tournaire is one of the first plant distillers in Grasse. Thanks to its long experience, Tournaire is able to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the extraction of essential oils as well as distillation and distillation units and hydro-distillation for professionals. For more than 180 years, Tournaire has constantly been improving its equipment, extraction and distillation techniques and now has the most complete and efficient range on the market.
But how is extraction and distillation of raw materials carried out with Tournaire equipment?
Tournaire Distillation Units – Tournaire Techniques
Tournaire manufactures a complete range of distillation units and batch distillation units at atmospheric pressure or under pressure for the production of essential oils. The different techniques possible with Tournaire equipment allow a controlled distillation for plants, twigs, leaves, flowers, roots, rhizomes, bark, woods, gum, resins, and fruits.
The distillation can be carried out:
– Under pressure for the more “difficult” raw materials (wood, roots etc.)
– by direct steam injection at the bottom of the device
– By hydro-distillation with or without stirrer
With regards to the loading / unloading modes, it is possible to use several techniques:
– From the chain grid at the bottom of the tank
– By grids staggered on a central shaft
– By baskets
Extraction of essential oils with dedicated Tournaire equipment.
Tournaire designs, installs and operates extraction units for essential oils for professionals in the fine chemicals, cosmetics, perfume, agro-food and pharmaceutical sectors.
Different techniques are possible with the range of static or agitated discontinuous extractors:
– Static extraction for flowers and raw vegetable raw materials
– Floating filter extraction for powders, gums and resins
– Filter extraction for powders and other crushed materials (fine particle size)
These extracted natural extractors are integrated in complete units allowing the filtration of the extract, the evaporation of the solvent and the final concentration of the extract under reduced pressure.
